Choosing an apprenticeship is a significant decision. With so much information available and varying opinions, it's natural to have questions. Here are the answers to the most common questions we receive from prospective apprentices.
General apprenticeship questions
Why choose a digital apprenticeship?
Why choose a digital apprenticeship?
A digital apprenticeship offers practical, work-based experience that's immediately applicable across a broad range of businesses. Unlike traditional education routes, you'll:
Earn while you learn – Continue receiving a salary while gaining professional qualifications, avoiding student debt entirely.
Gain skills businesses actually need – Learn current, in-demand digital marketing techniques that help businesses thrive in the modern work environment.
Stay connected to the real world – Training is applied directly to workplace projects, so you're always learning relevant, practical skills rather than just theory.
Receive thousands of pounds worth of training – Access professional development valued at £7,000+ at no cost to yourself.
Build a professional network – Connect with other apprentices, experienced trainers, and business professionals throughout your learning journey.
Can I do an apprenticeship in my current job?
Can I do an apprenticeship in my current job?
Absolutely. You can pursue an apprenticeship at any stage of your career, whether you're just starting out or have years of experience.
Apprenticeships are a flexible way to:
- Gain formal qualifications for skills you're already using
- Fill knowledge gaps in your current role
- Position yourself for promotion or career progression
- Bring additional value to your current employer
Many of our apprentices are existing employees looking to formalise their skills or expand their expertise in digital marketing.
Am I too old or too young to do an apprenticeship?
Am I too old or too young to do an apprenticeship?
Age is not a barrier. As long as you're 16 or over, you're eligible for an apprenticeship. There is no upper age limit.
16-18 year olds: Apprenticeships are an excellent alternative to A-Levels or university, allowing you to start your career while earning.
19-24 year olds: Perfect if you're looking to establish your career direction with professional training and qualifications.
25+ and beyond: Ideal for career changes, professional development, or formalising skills you've developed through experience.
We regularly work with apprentices across all age ranges, from school leavers to professionals in their 40s, 50s, and beyond.
Can I do an apprenticeship if I have a degree?
Can I do an apprenticeship if I have a degree?
It depends on your specific situation:
Different subject area: If your degree is in a different field than digital marketing, you're typically eligible for our apprenticeships.
Related subject: If your degree specifically covered digital marketing, it may impact your eligibility for a Level 3 or Level 4 apprenticeship in the same area.
Partial completion: If you started but didn't complete a degree, you're likely still fully eligible.
Prior learning: In some cases, previous qualifications may allow you to fast-track certain elements.
Best approach: Contact our apprenticeship team directly. We'll review your qualifications and discuss your eligibility plus any alternative options available to you.
