The results of a major study into Cornish surnames and family history have been captured in a new 256 page book. The Cornish Family - The Roots of Our Future is the result of a collaboration between The Cornwall Family History Society (the largest family history society in the UK) and the Institute of Cornish Studies. Published by Cornwall Editions, the book charts Cornish Family history from the Middle Ages to the present day, from the development of common Cornish family names to the migration of Cornish families across the world through the 19th century.

Historic Cornish ports are to feature in a unique new art collection highlighting the county’s rich maritime heyday. Cornwall Editions have been granted special permission to copy original Admiralty charts of St. Ives, Padstow, Penzance and Fowey for their Cornish Ports Collection. Originally commissioned by the Admiralty to record the seas and shores around the county, the charts provide a fascinating insight into 19th-century Cornwall, when many families and villages made their living from the sea and from where ships sailed to distant corners of the world.
