Channel 4 British Documentary Film Foundation

If you have an idea for a documentary project that highlights important contemporary British social or political issues you can apply now for up to £70,000 from a new documentary film fund launched by the Channel 4 British Documentary Film Foundation and the Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust.

The fund, launched at the Would Like to Meet Campaigners session at BRITDOC 06, is open for documentary projects that focus on issues of social justice, human rights and democracy in Britain today. We want filmmakers to submit documentary ideas that bring pressing issues to the forefront of audiences’ minds, and to engage in stories that have the power to impact on political agendas and social justice.

The selection panel, consisting of representatives from the Channel 4 Documentary Film Foundation and the Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust, are looking for ideas in the documentary form, of any genre be it observational, essay or personal polemic.

The closing date for proposals is 15th January 2007, full details of the fund and how to apply can be found on www.britdoc.org/foundation/campaigners.php
