BT to beat broadband target

BT is set to sign up its ten millionth broadband customer - doubling its original target of five million broadband customers by the end of 2006. That target was considered ambitious when it was set in 2002. Broadband is now used by more than 13 million people, which makes it the UK’s fastest-growing consumer product in recent years. Broadband delivered over BT's network is outpacing cable broadband, with 89% of new connections using BT's network.
