altcom wins major nationally tendered project

altcom has continued its success at winning contracts within the Education sector to build content management systems and database driven web applications. Following its delivery of content management systems for University College Falmouth and Brasenose College Oxford, altcom has recently won a major nationally tendered project to develop the National UK Parks and Gardens Database and Content Management System website and the contract to develop a content management system for Bedales Schools, one of the top UK public schools.

The Parks and Gardens project is run by a group withinin the University of York and is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The winning solution provided by altcom uses open source systems and an Oracle database. An XML interface is used to handle database interaction with the website. The project is currently in development and is due to go live delivery in Summer 2007.
